Welcome band directors!
Celebrating 28 years of music and pageantry excellence, the Kennewick
and Pasco High School Band and Instrumental Music Boosters would like to
invite your band to participate in the 28th Annual Southeastern
Washington Cavalcade of Bands Marching Band Competition to be held at
Neil F. Lampson Stadium in Kennewick, Washington, on Saturday, October 3, 2009.
Twenty six bands will be accepted for this year’s competition. We will
accept applications until the field of competition is completed. Your
application should be sent as soon as possible, as the bands will be
accepted on a first come basis. If you have to wait on confirmation of
funding, please go ahead and send your application as we can always
cancel your application if you find that you cannot attend.
Application Deadline: Fee Increase for 2009
Your $250 fee and application form will be due by June 1.
Applications received after June 1 will have a fee of $275.00. If you
are not able to send the fee with your application, please indicate on
your application. If we do not receive your fee prior to event day, your
band will be allowed to perform, but they will not be adjudicated.
A video release form, group photo, show description and proof of
insurance will be due by August 15. These forms are accessible through
our web-site. Reminders will be sent after August 1.
The competition will include the following divisions (enrollment is
based on 9th thru 12th grade):
AA DIVISION
Enrollment up to 999
AAA-SMALL BAND DIVISION
Enrollment of 1000+, with a band size of up to 79 members
(including auxiliaries)
AAA-LARGE BAND DIVISION
Enrollment of 1000+, with a band size of 80 to 99 members
(including auxiliaries)
AAA-OPEN BAND DIVISION
Enrollment of 1000+, with a band size of 100 and up members
(including auxiliaries)
NOTE: you must compete in the division which you are assigned. There
will be no changing of division up or down, unless your numbers change
from the time you applied.

Each band is required to complete the application form. We do ask for group size and enrollment numbers; if you don't know the information, just give us your best guess. We will contact you around September 1 to update your info if it has changed.- NOTE: We have had some difficulty with a few people whose computer systems do not work well with e-mailing the form. If you have not received an acknowledgment e-mail within a week of submitting, please send via FAX or snail mail.

This very important information helps you acknowledge those people who help make your program run. Students, family and friends love seeing their favorite band's information in the souvenir program. You can tell us to use your Cavalcade picture from last year or send us a real picture via snail mail or a good quality .jpeg file to our e-mail. -
Insurance Certificate
Due September 15
Our school districts require each group to submit a current certificate of insurance prior to attending the event. Please print this form out and give it to your administrator or insurance holder to have a certificate produced and sent to us. Note: If you are utilizing housing at local schools, you will be requested to get an additional certificate for housing. The Housing Coordinator will contact you and let you know. -

Ticket Order Form

As a courtesy we have extended presale ticket prices to our visiting groups, boosters and their families. We realize you may not be able to make it to one of our local outlets so you can download this form, complete it and send it with your payment and we will gladly send your tickets or hold them at the 'will call' window to pick up on the day of the show. -
Video
Release
September 15
Each year we have a company, Video Ventures, record preliminary and final competitions along with the awards ceremony for a quality muli-camera DVD for purchase. This release allows them record your show. If you think your show can't be recorded, please let me know and Video Ventures will contact the publisher and arrangement for payment of royalties to allow recording. We have people wanting to purchase a DVD of your group and if we don't receive your release, we can't provide one to them.
